What are your thoughts on Valentine’s Day? While I do love going on dates with my husband, I actually
don’t look at Valentine’s Day as a day for him and I. I don’t mean to be a big bummer, but I tend to view
this holiday as a bit of a commercialized day.
I like to date my husband throughout the year and I tell him I love him multiple times each and every
day. That’s why I choose to make Valentine’s Day a day for the family.
We love spending time together and while, like my husband, I tell them every day that
I love them, but I do like the idea of an entire day that celebrates our family’s love for one another.
While I do love spending time with the whole family on Valentine’s Day, I do not like taking the family out
to dinner on February 14th. Truth be told, I don’t really even like going out to eat with my husband on
that day: restaurants are far too busy on Valentine’s Day to make a dinner out with kids much fun at all.
Your wait will likely be incredibly long.
If you are looking for Valentine’s Day activities for the family that can help you spend some much-needed
quality time together and will show your love for one another, look no further.
You can do these activities on Valentine’s Day itself, or you can do them in the days leading up to it.
Valentine's Day Activities for the Family
Give Flowers to Strangers
One of my favorite ways to spend any holiday is by doing random acts of kindness.
The best way to do this during Valentine’s Day is by giving flowers to strangers. It’s such a fun way
to bring smiles to others. One fun way to do this is by going into your local florist or grocery store and
buying a bunch of individual roses and carnations or other flowers.
You can then hand these flowers out to people leaving the store, or you can hand them out anywhere!
I’ve seen people do it in coffee shops, restaurants, etc.

Bake Together
A wonderful Valentine’s Day activity to do as a family is to enjoy a day of baking with your kids!
Not only do you get to spend time together, but you also get the added joy of eating the delicious treats you make together.

Includes Herb Pot -Includes 16 Piece Children's Kitchen Tool Set and Kid's Chef's Hat. These,
of course, are not required for a baking day, but the kids sure look cute in them!
When it’s time to bake be sure and have these tools on hand for baking your treats:
Superstone® Bread Dome: - The "incredible" Superstone® Bread Dome is an amazing product for
baking breads and chicken, vegetable or meat dishes.
The stoneware material replicates a professional brick-lined oven to create a dry, even heat and
spectacular bread. the domed shape allows air to evenly-circulate around the baker for a uniformly
browned crust on your bread while the unglazed lid helps create the perfect environment for
baking crackly breads and juicy chickens and roasts.
Superstone® Covered Baker: The Superstore Covered Baker produces a spectacular italian, or oblong,
loaf of bread! Its unglazed interior pulls moisture from the dough, replicating the effects of a brick-lined
oven to give you a light crumb and crusty exterior loaf. try roasting potatoes in the baker for crispy skins
and a fluffy interior. if you’re a bread baker and enjoy baking different types and shapes of bread, this
baker is terrific!
You can make some delicious brownies, breads and cakes with these bakers.
Play In The Snow
Wintertime for many means snow Bundle up the kids and go outside to play in the snow! Whether you
are building snowmen, making snow angels, or just tossing some snowballs to each other, this is a great
way to bond!
Meaningful Gifting
This is hands down one of my favorite things to do for Valentine’s Day. Head to the bank and grab some
$1 bills. Give each member of the family enough $1 bills that they can buy a gift for every other person in
the family and head to the dollar store. Give the instructions that they need to get each person a gift that explains something about the reason that they love this person. For example, they can buy their sibling a pack of bubbles that says “I love playing outside with you.”
